THE BUZZ AT ZION
ANNUAL REPORTS NEEDED!
It’s that time of year! Chair members, I need your annual report for the annual meeting in my office NO LATER THAN January 2nd! Please have them to me on time so I can have them to the congregation before the annual meeting scheduled on Jan. 22nd. Thanks you so much for your immediate attention in this matter!
OUR DAILY BREAD
They have arrived! The January, February, March 2008 edition of Our Daily Bread, in large print are here. They will be placed in the Narthex for you to pick one up. Should you wish to reserve one just call the office (347-2266) and I will set one back for you.
WYOMING BOYS SCHOOL MINISTRY
The Wyoming Boys School ministry continues to share the Good News and has good news to report. The Boys School Ministry team consists of the body of Christ within our community. We have had several changes and growth this year. Ed Belleque of Thermopolis and Boys School chaplain of 30 years, retired in January and entrusted the position to Mike King of Worland. Mike has a real heart and a gift for ministering to these young men. Weekly evening Bible studies are being held. There are 4 worship teams and a number of speakers who minister on a rotation basis each Sunday afternoon. Many decisions for Christ as well as a baptism have happened this year.
Once again, we are planning to bless the boys with Christmas goodies on December 23rd, immediately following the worship service. This has become a greatly anticipated event, as their sweets are very limited there. If you would like to provide some Christmas cookies, candies, etc. this year, please bring them to Kings Carpet One with your name and address on them (they like to send thank you notes) by Friday, December 21st. Thank you for being a part of this crucial ministry, as this is a pivotal time in the lives of these young men. The impact we can make not only on their lives, but on our society as a whole is far reached.
EAGLE SCOUT GRADUATION TO BE HELD
The family of Zion is cordially invited to an Eagle Scout Award ceremony in honor of Zach Ley, Saturday, December 22nd at 1:00pm at the church. Reception and refreshments to follow.
Kenya Team Fundraiser
Super Six Soup Supper
Been missing Wednesday Night Dinners? Need time to finish shopping, wrapping, or other tasks without the kids? Come support the Kenya Mission Team this Wednesday, the 19th at 5:30pm in the Fellowship Hall, while you enjoy six delicious, different homemade soups with bread, cornbread, drinks and dessert. After supper, take the time to finish up your holiday shopping tasks while we watch the kids. Your children ages 12 and younger may remain in our care for a choice of a movie, crafts, a Christmas story and nursery supervision till around 8:00pm. All for your love offering! Thank you in advance for helping us prepare for a God honoring, God directed and life changing event. All proceeds will go to the Kenya Mission Trip scheduled for June 2008.
NEW MEMBERS/FRIENDSHIP CLASS
A New Membership/Friendship class will begin January 13th for five consecutive weeks for all who are new to the church, would like to find out more information about the church, and/or would like to join Zion. Please speak to the Pastor as soon as possible if interested.
To Our Friends at Zion,
A Christmas Inspiration
With time we see, through wiser eyes
the greatest gifts God sends
aren’t power, fame, or fortune,
but our families and our friends!
We find tat dreams aren’t just for kids,
that prayer can save the day,
that life’s a whole lot sweeter
When we laugh along the way!
We learn that loving and caring
Means so much when times get tough,
That hugs can often “say it all”
When words are not enough.
We learn to keep a child like faith
Forever in our hearts
For that’s where hope and love are born,
Through Jesus Christ it starts!
Have a blessed, holy Christmas,
Floyd & Jennie Thompson
